CALIFORNIA’S 8TH DISTRICT, February 22 — Our desperate search for missing Congressman, Paul Cook (R-CA) got a big boost Tuesday when the California dairy industry began circulating milk cartons with information about the Congressman’s disappearance. We can’t thank the CA dairy industry enough for bringing attention to this unsettling turn of events.
We also can’t thank YOU (and George Takei) enough for spreading the word. A single picture of those milk cartons in one area grocery store now has nearly 20 thousand “likes” and 10 thousand “retweets” on Twitter.
National media have also picked up on the story.
On Tuesday, Mediaite’s Lindsey Ellefson reported that “Congressman Paul Cook of California is one of those who hasn’t scheduled any town halls and, judging by the [milk carton campaign], some of his constituents are very worried about him.” Ms. Ellefson also highlighted our work here at www.whereispaulcook.com, and she promised to keep readers abreast about the search for Congressman Cook: “If and when Cook resurfaces and hosts a town hall, we will let you know.”
Later Tuesday evening, the Rachel Maddow Show highlighted the milk carton campaign in a segment on the now 7,000+ Indivisible groups resisting the Trump agenda. The whole video is worth watching, but our search for Congressman Cook is specifically highlighted at 18 mins, 20 sec.
According to Rachel’s reporting, many of those Indivisible groups are also looking for their (mostly Republican) legislators. This is, perhaps, the story of our lifetime — nearly every member of a major political party MISSING, and their anxious constituents working desperately to find them.
Of course, our search is focused on finding Congressman Cook so that he can come home and hold a town hall in the 8th District. Come home, Paul. We’ll have that town hall packed and ready to greet you.
